    Fuchsia Confusion

#AtoZChallenge – Flash fiction based on life’s philosophy or mood or emotions, interpreted using colours. “Show me that one…” she said, pointing a dainty finger adorned with pink-purple nail-art. “Oh, the pink one?” “It is not pink, it is fuchsia!” She flicked her hair, one lock streaked in same colour as the clip she was pointing at, fuchsia or something. Trained not to argue or disagree with a customer, I opened the cabinet and put it on the tray for her to examine. Her cel

    Emerald Venom

#AtoZChallenge – Flash fiction based on life’s philosophy or mood or emotions, interpreted using colours. I watched them standing behind the curtain, he caressing her hand, she smiling then dropping her eyes to the emerald ring on her finger. The core of my being filled with an acute pain, a hand fisted on my heart and squeezed. Revulsion and bitterness rose deep inside. I knew I had taken the right step. He was mine, he had always been until she came in our lives and spoilt

    Dandelion Meets Denim

#AtoZChallenge – Flash fiction based on life’s philosophy or mood or emotions, interpreted using colours. Crack. “Oh teri, Babloo!” Squinting against the sun, Sanaa’s gaze followed the ball’s flight across the park as it smashed the window pane before disappearing inside the big house. “Oh, no!” Riya, the wicket-keeper, thumped her head, standing behind the stacked up bricks. “My ball!” Yash let out a loud wail and began to cry. “Keep quiet.” Ishaan smacked his younger brothe

    Champagne Girl

#AtoZChallenge – Flash fiction based on life’s philosophy or mood or emotions, interpreted using colours. He watched her from the table on the left of the round stage, clad today in a pale yellow shimmery gown. She sang in her melodious voice a long-forgotten gazal of Chitra Singh. Her long hair flowed on her shoulders and the loop in her ear swayed with the rhythm. He knew, she knew. Her gaze had traced his steps the moment he had entered the pub and reached his table. After

    Bronze Dust

#AtoZChallenge – Flash fiction based on life’s philosophy or mood or emotions, interpreted using colours. Tired, wrinkled hand fisted the brown soil—hard and dry—one last time and smeared it on his forehead asking for forgiveness from mother Earth–the giver for not being able to sustain, from his ancestors for not being able to save the land. The postman had graciously written the letter to the village elders, they would know what to do. With a heavy heart and on frail feet h

    Amber Autumn

#AtoZChallenge – Flash fiction based on life’s philosophy or mood or emotions, interpreted using colours. She stared at the orange, red autumn leaves drifting down, anchorless, gliding with the breeze and sometimes at the mercy of the wind. Sitting by the window of her house, holding the drawing in her hand, she felt like one of the half-amber, half-brown coloured, shriveled pieces, separated from the anchor, no longer wanted, admired or desired. Crushed by the ignorant, invi

    A-Z Challange 2015: Theme Reveal

Well… After deep introspection and encouragement from my facebook friends, I have decided to take up the A-Z challange 2015. The category that I have chosen is Writing/ Storytelling (I guess that is the easiest part). The stories would be based on life philosophies which will reflect the moods based on my interpretations of colours. This needs to be brainstormed (the toughest part) and I would post the ‘colour-life’ outline as it is realized in my mind. Wish me luck, folks!
